The Manager, Process Training position is a key leader in our Supply Chain Operations Organization, that will be responsible for delivering significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers.

You will be responsible for leading, developing and supporting teams of process training leaders, and trainers in a distributed geography (West Coast, Midwest and East Coast) across the Supply Chain network. You will partner with and represent Nordstrom in enterprise efforts to support and deliver operational excellence in process training, leadership development, and elevating the employee experience to achieve our performance goals.

The role will give you the opportunity to partner collaboratively with a variety of spaces such as Learning, Technology, Process Engineering, and broader Supply Chain and HR teams to influence and drive program execution including change management strategy. The role requires outstanding stakeholder management skills and a track record in delivering results across all operational areas.

This position will be located at Nordstrom’s Supply Chain site in Dubuque, Iowa.

A day in the life…

  • Leadership: Provides direct support to lead, develop and support teams of process training leaders, and trainers distributed geographically across the network. Manages hiring, training and developing a high performing team to deliver best in class warehouse employee training and mindset for the Supply Chain network. Deliver and elevate the fundamentals to deliver a strong and scalable program to support all process training and operational change leadership.
  • Management of program: Implement an innovative, world-class program to ensure our front line employees receive the highest quality of training for all departments and cross functional business needs. Prepare confident and competent trainers, using best practices and available tools to demonstrate and teach safe, accurate, and efficient work practices. Support interim trainers (peak support) in onboarding, off-boarding and forecasting the needs for interim trainers according to volume. Implement a structured program that includes demonstration of understanding, progression, results and determination for success and opportunities. Deliver high impact in employee learning experiences and creating a culture of employee empowerment, while building and executing integrated plans across multiple teams. Support process training of new and existing employees and leaders.
  • Change Management: Drive execution of Change Strategy. Create and implement change management strategies to maximize employee adoption & usage. Own overall management of change plan for all warehouse processes; inclusive of detailed communication and training plans; accountable to drive to deadlines, identify roadblocks and formulate / implement solutions.
  • Measure Success: Create and own program measurement plans to demonstrate success measures to drive faster adoption, higher utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization, Roi and the achievement of results & outcomes. Observe high performers to identify best practices. Re-train and develop low performing employees. Review and update training tools (job-aids, quick-steps, facilitator guides, user guides, visual training guides, etc.).
  • Effectively Partner and collaborate: Partner with Learning & Leadership team to launch and scale new training approaches. Develop strong collaborative relationships with program management, continuous improvement, operations leadership, business and Hr partners and leaders to ensure relevant and successful delivery of change. Act as liaison with Process, Ci teams and business stakeholders and leads to ensure process changes identified and new processes created. Own training, education and communication to ensure the right messages at the right time, to support the needs of our business.

You own this if you have…

  • Proven success in change management and training management processes and tools/systems.
  • Ability to formulate strategy and roadmap for building, strengthening and delivering a center of excellence framework for process training.
  • 5+ years of Training and learning experience
  • Direct experience of 7+ years in leading a team by example in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills with the ability to build strong partnerships, including strength in managing stakeholder relationships and influencing business and technical stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to utilize data as a guiding force in decision making partnered with strong communication skills for presentation/story telling.
  • Prefer prior experience/understanding of the supply chain environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience.
