What are our Expectations?
A bench jeweler at Van Cleef & Arpels will be responsible for completing repairs in a fast-paced workshop environment and will report directly to the Workshop Director.
The Jeweler is responsible for High repairs of assorted jewelry pieces and high jewelry production. High Jewelry production will require using a torch and laser wielding machines, ability to understand and respect aesthetics, work close to a team members to achieve quality required by Maison. Alterations and Repairs will include chain sizing of various types, ring sizing of various aesthetics, reshaping of bracelets, necklaces and rings and perform work on all types of metals. Additionally, the role will perform work and perform minor polishing when required. The role will assist the Customer Service team on the smooth flow of client repairs.
Qualifications for this role include: knowledge in the field of jewelry making and repairs, a minimum of 5 years experience in all phases of jewelry repairs including but not limited to working with 18K gold and platinum, and knowledge of stone setting and polishing. A jeweler must have experience in laser wielding, rhodium plating and laser engraving experience is a plus. The jeweler must be well-organized and extremely detail oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment of the Workshop and have strong verbal and communication skills. The jeweler will possess creative problem-solving abilities, must be a team player and adhere to deadlines and have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to perform in a Workshop environment. Additionally, the jeweler will be a quick learner who Is able to work with expedited service requests. Fluency in French is a plus. At this time, we are not sponsoring work visas.
