Job Description

The Supplier Quality Engineer will work with the supplier and if needed internal functional teams to provide actionable information based on the review of finished goods that will drive continuous improvement during the manufacturing process. This role will also support reliability testing projects to improve the design of product throughout the product life cycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide support to new product development and current product assortment when quality issues are identified. Prepare and review supplier quality metrics to drive improvement. Communicate with suppliers to assist with the development and improvement of supplier quality. Conduct product reviews to collect and analyze data to identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Participate in new supplier qualification process by performing audits, reviewing products in development and providing feedback on critical to quality requirements to assess supplier capabilities during SKU sign off.
  • Utilize results of quality assurance inspections and audits to drive change by identifying system breakdowns and working with global quality teams to continuously improve supplier performance.
  • Support Senior Reliability Engineer to test, validate, and implement improvements at any stage of the product life cycle. Advocate for changes that improve reliability of finished good products and verify actions have been implemented on finished goods.
  • Be impactful when working with team members of varying experience, skills and position within the organization. Leverage your experience to lead the team in the use of appropriate tools and fundamental problem solving.
  • Perform inspection of incoming merchandise ensuring the quality of product meets Tiffany & Co. standards at the RSC or at external suppliers. Follow appropriate statistical sampling plan based on supplier performance. Record inspection data into JD Edwards Quality Management system maintaining accurate data entry. Responsible for creating Return to Vendor documents.
  • Participate in all departmental training. Participate in all safety training seminars and follow all job safety requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bs in Engineering – Industrial Engineer or similar field (Experience will be evaluated in place of degree)
  • 3+ years Quality Assurance experience
  • Normal color perception, passing color test
  • 2+ work experience in supplier quality control
  • Proficient in English; written and oral
  • Proficient in Ms Office tools; Excel, PowerPoint and Word; Minitab or similar stats tool, reading Prints / CAD / 3d Models

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ Quality Engineer Certification
  • Graduate Gemologist
  • Work experience in luxury goods manufacturing industry
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certified

The hiring range for this position ranges from $79,135.00 – $107,065.00. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
