Job Description

As Specialist, Email Development and Deployment you will be responsible for the development, implementation and deployment of simple to highly advanced email, push notifications and CRM campaigns using our Customer Engagement Platform. You have experience with Customer Engagement Platforms (CEPS) or large Email Service Providers (ESPS), can skillfully navigate, build and maintain a variety of custom templates and can set-up automated customer journeys with dynamic content. Reporting into our Global Outbound Communications team you’ll play a key role helping SSENSE send the right messages to the right customers at the right times.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical production process for campaigns sent via our customer engagement platform
  • Improve, build and maintain a variety of email templates that can pull in dynamic + personalized content (experience sending in multiple languages a plus)
  • Build select templates that campaigns specialists with minimal technical expertise can easily use to create their own campaigns (advanced drag & drop builds as tool allows)
  • Ensure templates render across a variety of email clients and devices and troubleshoot code as required
  • Set up, execute and monitor automated lifecycle email and push notification journeys or campaigns with dynamic content in a SaaS platform like Braze
  • Ability to create audience segments required by each campaign or marketing automation journeys (including understanding data points needed for them to work e.g. custom attributes or events)
  • Keep on top of technical updates, enhancements and changes with our customer engagement platform and keep appropriate teams informed / react as needed
  • Continually challenge the status quo through identifying areas for enhancements, improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them.
  • Ability to partner and build relationships with cross-functional teams (Loyalty, Data science, Design, Product team) to develop and implement projects
  • Ability to set-up a variety of tests in the platform for ongoing campaign iteration and optimization
  • Set-up reporting dashboards in platform (ensuring campaigns are tagged correctly)
  • Analyze performance results and implement improvements based on business recommendations
  • Monitor deliverability of campaigns by ISP
  • Stay abreast of the latest email trends and best practices.
  • Actively contributes to the SSENSE corporate knowledge base

Qualifications

  • 3+ years Html coding experience (strong knowledge of Html5, CSS)
  • 1+ years hands-on email development experience
  • Experience working with large ESPS or Customer Engagement Platforms (Braze experience preferred)
  • Experience building and testing personalized communications with Liquid, Handlebars, Ampscript, etc.
  • Experience with mobile/responsive email design and development
  • Understanding of CRM, database marketing an asset
  • Knowledge of databases and data structures, how campaigns are created by leveraging customer data from internal data system
  • Knowledge of email industry best practices including contact strategies, targeting and segmentation, A/B testing, and analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong attention to details, emphasis on precision work, organized and process focused
  • Work with the QA team to validate and ensure delivery of a flawless product
