The Job Mission:

Reporting to the Head of Branding Management, the Creative Communications Content Director will play a key role in leading Cartier North America’s creative strategic direction as it relates to the marketing strategy and content development, leveraging the full breadth of channels (in-boutique, visual merchandising, digital, public relations, events, etc.). This role will create assets, both commercial and non-commercial, to enable insight-driven campaigns across all channels that leverage the history and heritage of Cartier North America and advocate new and meaningful ways to reach, attract and engage clients across the continuum of the client journey. The Director will provide the inputs to drive traffic, adoption and engagement of our Maison and offer through various digital channels and initiatives that advance competitive differentiation and build brand advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Communication Content Director

Responsibilities Overview:

  • Lead the creation of content across multiple channels (in-boutique, visual merchandising, digital, public relations, events, etc.). and serve as the subject matter experts on content and appropriate channels to focus on amplifying content.
  • Build and execute campaigns designed to support business strategies and drive engagement.
  • Strategize and propose creative concepts and innovative formats in line with the editorial calendar, brand voice and legacy, ensuring consistent messaging and tone.
  • Identify & manage a portfolio of agencies and creative talents and recommend relevant creative and production partners to ensure quality output per Maison’s standards.
  • Partner with Creative Strategy Senior Manager to serve as the critical points of contact for the Communications Activation team, meeting weekly to ensure the timely delivery of media, Crm and press (content and copy) assets.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, create insight-driven content to support initiatives and product launches ensuring all posts are on-brand, relevant, original, platform-specific, and high-quality content to drive engagement with target audience.
  • Create, maintain and implement advanced planning/forward looking plan/calendar for Cna Region across multiple channels and ensure integration and optimization across channels. Engage internal (both regionally and globally) and external stakeholder inputs and execute locally.
  • Design, test, and scale best-in-class content initiatives that directly impact nurturing, conversion, and retention across the customer journey.
  • Ensure execution consistency of all content and programs adhering to corporate branding guidelines and Cartier codes.
  • Work cross-functionally to continually evolve and optimize campaigns to drive key marketing metrics (i.e. conversion, retention & engagement) and improve performance of our touchpoints.
  • Directly manage and develop direct reports on Creative Communications Content team, including agencies and contractors.
  • Lead visioning, development, and implementation of talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, & internal mobility within the team, in collaboration with CMO and Human Resources to support internal growth while continuing to elevate expectations for Marketing & Communications talent.
  • Drive the creation of communities and team spirit within the broader Marketing & Communications organization, fostering best practice sharing and consistent execution
  • Act as a key collaborator and support partner in delivering on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion commitments and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of art directing, designing and developing content in creative and branding agencies with strategic business acumen skills; prefer a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success with driving high-performing content slates in a luxury environment.
  • Experience developing creative assets for multichannel social at a large brand, publisher or agency, including directing the work of others.
  • Proven experience in executing against a content strategy and collaborating with product and brand management both regionally and globally to successfully drive product content management and implement best practices.
  • Experience in directing and interacting with celebrities and A-list talent.
  • Strong conceptual and aesthetic skills (color, illustration, typography, logo design, layout); retouching; knowledge of print, OOH, and social media/digital delivery.
  • Advanced listening, verbal and written communication skills, including experience in creating, writing, researching, and managing content in multiple formats.
  • Experience leading, developing and inspiring team of direct reports.
  • Extensive experience in building, inspiring and managing a fast-paced content team across originals and acquisitions, creating a culture of innovation.
  • Collaborative leader with proven ability to build bridges and connect resources and talent, ideally with experience managing in a matrixed organization.
  • Possess deep knowledge and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite – master of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) + Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AfterEffects, C4D is a bonus.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, passionate self-starter with a focus on delivery of excellence, a can-do attitude and a sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; enjoys working in cross-functional & international teams under aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that drive excellent business decisions in a creative environment.
  • Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to communicate openly and proactively.
  • This position is based in midtown NYC. Candidates must be open to 25% travel.
