Job Description

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Human Resources Generalist – Retail to join the Human Resources team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. This individual will report to Human Resources Director.

The Generalist will primarily focus on employee relations within the retail population with additional responsibilities including training, development, performance management, organizational design, compensation, and benefits.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • Conduct complex employee relations investigations on subjects including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, and retaliation allegations
  • Manage investigations from start to finish, including intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings
  • Partner with field leadership teams to provide expertise, coaching and advice on employee relations and employee programs
  • Collect, review, interpret, analyze and evaluate statements, documents and physical evidence collected during the investigation and develop recommendations for appropriate remediation or other action
  • Collaborate with HR Team, Legal, Loss Prevention and Operational Leaders to design action plans where appropriate.
  • Analyze employee relations metrics and trends to help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies.
  • Continuously identify and integrate investigation best practices and remain abreast of current movement in the field of investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal labor laws
  • Contribute with both hands-on and strategic support of our managers through performance management and workplace conflict issues to cultivate a high-performing and inclusive culture

Compensation and Benefits

  • Support the incentive and compensation review process following LVMH guidelines and procedures
  • Support roll-out of incentive programs and enhancements to compensation packages through commission, contests, etc.

Administration

  • Maintain employee headcount and assist HR Operations Coordinator with metrics and monthly reporting
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Understand the core elements of our benefits programs and answer questions Other
  • Understand MJ business, be proactive and support managers and employees throughout all employee lifecycle events
  • Conduct check-in meetings with employees to gather feedback regarding their work experiences. Elevate any issues that arise in a timely manner and offer possible solutions as needed.
  • Partner with Human Resources team members to integrate processes that allow for seamless employee development
  • Contribute to, and may have project ownership of, certain processes for HR -related initiatives
  • Consistently assess HR processes and services and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Performs other ad hoc duties, as assigned by HR Director

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ Human Resources experience with a focus on employee relations
  • Previous experience conducting employee relations investigations required
  • Solid understanding of labor laws, demonstrated HR sensibility and critical thinking
  • Solid understanding of compliance
  • Superior organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail oriented, highly organized
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment
  • Maturity and discretion to handle confidential matters
  • Team player and proactive personality
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong time management and follow through skills.
  • Ability to travel
  • In compliance with the Order of New York City’s Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene to Require Covid-19 Vaccination in the Workplace, candidates will need to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination by their first day of employment
