Overview

Working in close partnership with the executive team, the VP of VM will concept the image of Visual marketing and commercial initiatives and ensure they are representative of the brand image of the Yurman house. The ideal candidate for this position will be a brand builder that understands luxury positioning and can balance strong creative vision, with business acumen, and leadership skills.

This individual will have experience working with a global luxury brand across all channels including vertical retail, wholesale, and dot-com distribution models. An understanding of design and a decisive point of view is imperative in order to maximize market opportunities and to further build brand currency among global consumers.

Additionally, he or she will possess proven project and people management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, rigorous timelines, and complex multi-channel budgets.

This position is responsible for managing a team as well as indirectly managing various external relations including retail partners, artists, vendors, visual agencies, suppliers and consultants. This position also works in close partnership with the Creative & Events teams. Marketing in concepting and realizing all aspects of branded event environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy, design and visual concepts for all commercial and press presentations
  • Partner with Creative leads to develop seasonal 360 consumer messaging then design concepts for all Retail windows that align with the messaging and the company’s objectives
  • Ideate and implement event design and display, store and showroom interior design and sourcing, and visual in store rollouts of marketing campaign visuals,
  • Interface across the organization with other cross-functional partners including: Product Design, Product Development, Planning, Operations, Merchandising, Creative and Marketing to ensure that the articulation of David Yurman product and creative vision is clear and impactful through a meticulously crafted visual strategy and its final execution
  • Manage the departmental budget, including installations, collateral production, travel, event visuals and windows
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications for celebrity events and other special installations

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment including the management of timelines and budgets, building a culture of accountability for him/ herself and the team
  • 15+ years of working in a global capacity in a senior Creative Presentation/Visual Merchandising role
  • A demonstrated ability to work for Founder driven brands or brands with very distinct DNA
  • Exceptional taste and a strong aesthetic eye – experience with Interior Design
  • Energetic, forward-thinker with high ethical standards, the ability to communicate a compelling vision, and the ability to monitor and respond to current design and consumer trends in order to keep the DY brand relevant
  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment; has sound judgment and inherently knows which creative ideas will work
  • Detailed and task oriented
  • Highly collaborative
  • A deep appreciation for fashion and a clear connection the DY style and aesthetic
  • Experience managing budgets and previous P&L experience a plus

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
