Responsibilities:

• Conceptualizes new designs and collections. Illustrates and sketches ideas to present to Design executives.
• Takes the design from rough concept through a workable, technical rendering that a model maker can follow to create a sample.
• Uses design skills combined with knowledge of the brand aesthetic to expand on initial design concepts to round out collections.
• Responsible for creating free-hand sketched “notes” of the design concepts during new product development meetings.
• Works directly with other designers to elaborate and expand on their design concepts.
• Creates new design concepts in keeping with the David Yurman brand image based on one-of-a-kind stones or materials.

Qualifications:

• Must submit a portfolio Pdf or website with application
• Strong hand sketching ability required
• Design Degree required, jewelry and metalsmith focus preferred
• Practicality- able to design with engineering and product development in mind
• Inventive and organic, designs with a “looser hand”
• Ability to interpret and re-imagine collections in order to take the brand to the next level
• Respects the David Yurman brand DNA
• Strong sense of fashion with high taste level
• Technical knowledge of jewelry manufacturing and materials
• Creative aesthetic in keeping with the David Yurman brand
• Advanced rendering skills
• Knowledge of Adobe Suite
