Reporting to: Retail Manager

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational activities of the store and leading the Ssense Montreal flagship store team in achieving the store’s business objectives. You will be tasked with creating an exemplary and welcoming environment, while cultivating, enhancing, and sustaining customer relationships aligned with Ssense brand values, using all customer service channels, ambitious personalized programs and a dynamic experience. You will work closely with the technology, real estate and service teams.

Customer Service to provide Ssense Montreal customers with an unparalleled experience. You will act as a mentor and trainer and produce various reports aimed at improving performance, developing future leaders and cultivating a talented network by identifying external talent that will elevate Ssense Montreal’s retail business.

Responsibilities

Leadership, Sales – 20%

  • Drive and maximize sales to achieve goals across all Ssense channels and initiatives; models with or without appointment, online model, marketing activations and individual contributions
  • Lead by example and cultivate customer relationships through customer data management, customer communication, and a drive to grow the customer base with a focus on customer development a local market
  • Analyze store performance and identify opportunities to maximize revenue, achieve business goals and increase productivity for Ssense Montreal
  • Develop and implement strategies and action plans in collaboration with Assistant Store Managers, Visual Experience Specialist and Retail Manager to drive revenue growth business and improve the customer experience
  • Act as an intermediary between store personnel and Head Office stakeholders for the communication of relevant structures, reports, metrics, initiatives and business strategies

Customer Experience – 20%

  • Optimize the operating model of Ssense Montreal in all its aspects, including but not limited to: staff experience, customer experience, operational processes and store expenses
  • Manage payroll to maximize productivity and improve customer experience
  • Be responsible for producing an efficient and accurate staff schedule as well as a distribution of team leaders according to traffic trends, launches and events by analyzing peak hours and seasons to ensure floor coverage optimal
  • Ensure ideal inventory levels by analyzing sell rates, actively communicating and participating in inventory planning to maintain optimal density, turnover and processes to achieve store and overall store business goals ‘business
  • Guide the customer experience according to models of visits with or without an appointment. Provide exceptional customer service every time through productivity, presentations, inventory monitoring and after-sales service to increase market share
  • Create customer acquisition and retention initiatives through the highest quality service, culture offering and loyalty programs
  • Ensure the design, development and implementation of the company’s Grc initiatives
  • Contribute to customer development by collecting relevant customer data and analyzing customer behavior to create a personalized and deliverable customer-focused experience

Operations – 30%

  • Collaborate with the Visual Experience Specialist, Retail to decide on the staffing and in-store operations required for visual merchandising and in-store marketing programming, being fully responsible for the development and the achievement of financial objectives
  • Be responsible for maintaining the highest operational standards of Ssense Montreal’s physical space by identifying and communicating any opportunities for improvement, in order to create and maintain a clean and functional space that reflects the organizational perspective of the space of Ssense in collaboration with Visual Experience, Real Estate and Security teams
  • Practice, promote and be accountable for loss prevention in all aspects of risk management, physical security, cash management, inventory management and transaction accuracy to ensure shrinkage stock below Ssense Montreal target
  • Ensure and enforce compliance of store operations, health and safety standards and maintenance of company policies

Leadership, staff – 30%

  • Act as a leader and mentor and provide performance management to contribute to reporting
  • Develop annual review processes for all staff and set annual employee goals to build exceptional customer-focused teams
  • Ensure communication and understanding of retail strategies, objectives and policies and procedures to all team leaders and staff
  • Develop and carry out regular training and personal development programs
  • Recruit, train and develop a talent network and develop succession plans

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of experience as a retail manager in an environment with high levels of retail traffic and operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in building trust in a multi-channel environment
  • Good knowledge of the products sold at Ssense, including the art direction and history of the brands, as well as technical information related to the clothing
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes (15 kg)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
  • Comfortable working with the Microsoft Office suite, the Google suite and with computers and the Web
  • Flexibility for working hours that may vary due to business demands
  • Possibility of having to travel according to the demands of the trade
