Role Mission

The Senior Manager, Inventory Planning is responsible for the strategy oversight and team of Inventory Planners who oversee merchandise allocation and replenishment from the Central and Regional Distribution Centers to stores, based on coverage targets by location and Sku (target stock levels). This position leads allocation and stock optimization in close partnership with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Supply Chain, Operations, and Retail/Digital Leadership) to ensure business targets are achieved and a healthy stock levels end-to-end across the Supply Chain.

Key Accountabilities

Allocation

  • Evaluate the stock allocation and distribution based on sales, distribution plan and rationing criteria to maximize service level within the region and to support sales objectives
  • Share new product launch plans with local Supply Chain Operations team to monitor shipping progress for timely in store deliveries
  • Proactively identify and escalate potential inventory risks within the region for Newness & Carryover typologies
  • Work with Ww product flow team to understand lead time, logic of picking and packing, timing to deliver products to stores and delivery schedules for each store

Stock Optimization

  • Evaluate and maintain healthy stock saturation levels within Stores and Warehouse in close partnership with cross functional teams to ensure the most productive stock remains
  • Plan and organize end of season product strategies and reverse logistics in collaboration with corporate and retail partners

Cross-Functional Partnership: Merchandising / Supply Chain / Operations – Regional & WW

  • Co-lead weekly meetings with the Merchandising team to review sales performance and opportunities grounded in business/store priorities. Plan and coordinate new collection launch plans and support in-network initiatives (new store openings, caravans, client events).
  • Design, develop, and maintain user friendly tools/dashboards to support departmental operations, provide more cross-functional visibility, and drive actions.
  • Document and share monthly Ops Scorecard with Retail Operations to track consolidation compliance by location of all major stock movements
  • Partner with Supply Chain Operations team on inbound product flow forecasting to build an accurate new product launch plan, ensure optimal warehouse efficiencies, and arrange manpower in alignment with projections.
  • Participate in seasonal buying campaigns to understand collection merchandising strategy, gather market knowledge, and provide qualitative feedback
  • Ad hoc reporting and data driven business reviews for senior management as needed to support business strategy

Store Support

  • Serve as point of contact of a Region focus to further increase the synergy between our retail stores and cross functional partners on maximizing sales potential, inventory optimization and market specific needs
  • Conduct monthly calls with flagship location senior management to highlight consumer purchasing patterns, client demographics, business needs and stock liabilities

Team Management

  • Manage a team of Inventory Planners that are responsible for merchandise replenishment across all product categories for Retail & Digital channels in the Americas
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Inventory Planning department, with a focus on process improvements and business analysis to support company scale and growth.
  • Onboard and train new hires on Inventory Planning best practices related to allocation, replenishment, product knowledge, inventory management and stock optimization

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, statistics, mathematics, engineering or related fields
  • 5 – 7 years experience; 2-3 years minimum people management and leadership experience
  • Experience in retail environment with hands-on knowledge of retail processes and procedures
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment
  • Effective analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented; accuracy & precision
  • Experience in using Excel, Sap and Bi tools in order to monitor performance and Kpis
  • Experience with size analysis experience preferred but not required
  • Luxury fashion house experience preferred but not required
  • Availability to travel
