Job Description

Overview

This position is responsible for providing financial support to the SVP of Merchandising and their team. Primary focuses are supporting the merchandise team driving financial analytics by brand by location to optimize assortments and drive KPI’s.

This role is an integral part of the Buying Team and is critical to the delivery of the Buying Strategy. They will support the SVP and Directors of Merchandising in the daily buying assessment and supporting activities.

The individual must build a sound knowledge of the systems required to conduct their role successfully and have a high comfort level sourcing and combining analysis to summarize actions needed. They should be able to provide a clear communication link between parts of the business including but not exclusive to brand partners, store directors and internal cross functional partners. The individual should approach the role with an entrepreneurial mindset while maintaining the Company’s professional image.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Summarize analytics required by the SVP and Directors of Merchandising including but limited to sales performance by Brand, by article, by store to
  • prepare the necessary go forward assortment recommendations on a regular basis in the preparation of orders / reorders
  • Support gathering market by market insights to analyze regional trends and competitive analysis by brand and by store
  • Identify key attribute opportunities across brands by store based on the monitoring of stocks by location with KPI’s provided by the SVP and Directors
  • of Merchandising
  • Analyze sales trends across the Brand matrix by location inclusive of assessing requests from stores to impact go forward growth opportunities
  • Organize necessary communications in regard to product launches and preselling opportunities of unique product
  • Create support materials for Brand Strategy sessions
  • Conduct local NY area store visits as well as internal communication with store sales and management teams
  • Develop relationship and regular communication with ecommerce and marketing team and support Merchandise Coordinator in efforts to optimize the
  • online business by Brand
  • Assist with event coordination
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years of experience in Merchandising
  • Experience in with a multi-tiered sales organization in the Luxury industry preferred
  • Required to communicate effectively across the business to the wider store team, keeping management up to date with their store performance
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing capabilities
  • Product lifecycle management experience
  • Attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
  • Ability to establish executive summary reporting tools from multiple systems
