Job Description

The Team:

The Accounting/Finance team is responsible for protecting the Company’s financial assets, mitigating financial risks and reporting the financial position of the company to business stakeholders. The department is comprised of four main pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, Treasury & Inventory Control.

The Opportunity:

Treasury and Sales Audit Manager will be overseeing 2 main functions which are Treasury and Sales Audit; he/she will ensure all the appropriate control, compliance and reporting requirements for these functions are met on an accurate and timely manner.

Manage treasury functions for Hermes of Paris (HOP) – review and approval of payments via ACH and checks with fullest compliance with company’s prudential rules, monitoring of all bank accounts’ activities, cashflow reporting of actuals and forecasts, monthly and quarterly reporting of treasury reports to Senior Management and Headquarter.

Responsible for sales auditing and reconciliation of payment types (Cash, Amex, VI/MC/Diners/JCB/Cup, PayPal, etc.) being accepted in HOP’s retail stores and E-Commerce, amongst various systems (SAP -> Cegid/Magento -> Amex/FiServ/Adyen/PayPal -> Bank Account), through daily, weekly and monthly control processes.

Partner cross-functionally with other teams within the Finance & Accounting department on various project management and identification of areas for synergies and process automation for increased efficiency.

All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

About the Role:

  • Manage Treasury functions
    • Close monitoring and accounting of all bank accounts’ transactions (receipts and disbursements)
    • Control-check on all out-going payments, ensuring all necessary support and compliance rules are in place
    • In-charge of cashflow reporting of actuals and forecasts + variance analysis
    • Review and validate treasury-related journal entries prior to booking in SAP
    • Publication of all Group’s Treasury reports (actuals and budgets) in Group consolidation tool (Magnitude) on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
    • Execute fund transfers, domestic and international, amongst HOP’s bank accounts as necessary
    • Implement improvements in the cash management practices, and ensure compliance with the regional and worldwide group policies
    • Oversee contracts and terms with banks and other financial institutions (i.e. loans, letter of credit)
    • Management of account with armored car services vendor; review and validation of vendor fees
    • Follow up on updates on banking mandates
    • Close follow-up and monitoring of inter-company loans; ensure inter-company transactions tie out
    • Review and accounting of of FX gains and losses
    • Review of vendors approved for direct-debit vendors (utilities, taxes, duties)
    • Freight and Duties accounting, in partnership with logistics and FP&A teams
    • Setting-up necessary accounts (banking, merchant account services, armored car service, cash float) for all new store openings

  • Manage the Sales Audit functions
    • Ensure daily and monthly bank reconciliations are performed
    • Ensure daily and monthly reconciliation of all payment tender types and financial flows amongst the various systems (SAP, Retail POS, E-Commerce Platform, Kyriba) are timely and accurately performed
    • Account analysis and supporting documentation for each balance sheet account (credit card receivables, financial flow liabilities (store credits, gift cards, store credit), sales tax payable, transitory accounts)
    • Review and analyze credit card fees, chargebacks, allocation of payment methods, aging of financial flow liabilities
    • Manage insurance claims for undelivered customers’ orders (retail and e-commerce)

  • Other Projects
    • Process-Improvement projects (with HQ, Operations, IT, external partners) aimed at developing existing processes toward most optimal and efficient set up
    • Partner on inter-departmental functions (i.e. budgets, procurement, new vendor management, inventory controlling in retail/corporate/distribution center, system-interfaces, omni-channel (e-commerce and retail stores’ alignment in processes)

  • Supervisory Responsibility
    • YES – 2 direct reports: Sr. Treasury Analyst and Sr. Sales Audit Analyst

  • Budget Responsibility
    • YES – cashflow forecasting; budgeting for P&L accounts (credit card fees, bank commission fees, tax/audit fees, chargebacks)

  • Decision Making Responsibility
    • YES – assess, propose, and support recommendations to supervisor on process improvements, project launches, team management, as any situation will call upon

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum Years of Experience
    • 10 years in finance/ retail accounting field
    • Strong sales audit background

  • Minimum Education Requirement
    • BA in Accounting or Finance
    • Master’s degree / CPA preferred
