Job Description

Responsibilities

Development

  • In collaboration with design and tech design, assesses and approves constructions for efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Oversees issuance of all BOMs/tech packs for accuracy, completeness, quality, affordability, and compliance prior to release
  • With you director, Recommends enhancements, construction and material options to elevate our brand, and meet financial requirements. Resolves construction that does not meet design, merchandising, production or financial needs
  • Coordinates with manufacturing partners and cross-functional teams to deliver on calendar and within timeliness for all protos, SMS, and confirmation samples
  • Manages the handover of clean TPs to manufacturing partners on behalf of design; communicates daily with overseas and domestic suppliers on questions and changes to assists in interpreting design and business needs
  • Reviews all prototypes and market samples to ensure accuracy in execution
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on all requested prototypes
  • Supervises, schedules, and tracks all confirmation samples to ensure exact execution of final design
  • Costing each style in centric PLM and maintaining margin goals for each season as set by forth by your manager and the Vice President of Development
  • Schedule and attend all fittings, take proper notes, make suggestions for construction and quality to ensure integrity of brand but also maintain margin goals
  • Monitor and review sketch to merch plan to help prevent over development
  • Maintain, and report on budget weekly by season to your manager

Product Integrity

  • Aims to instill quality in the product from onset of development through final production
  • Reviews all components with an eye for quality and performance
  • Ensures that all components and constructions used are compliant for performance and restricted substances prior to production. Works in tandem with raw materials team, production and factories to ensure this

Calendar

  • Communicates and manages calendar across internal teams to ensure timely turnover of development, return of prototypes, and market samples and placement of final production
  • Monitors calendar daily to promote flow of development; apprises and resolves calendar variances with team and management

Qualifications

  • 4+ Years’ experience in Footwear development and/or production
  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion related field
  • Highly detailed and organized with an eye for quality and perfection
  • Experience working with contemporary brands
  • Comfortable working in a fluid and creative environment
  • Strong with computers, able to learn new programs and work within cloud sharing
  • Working knowledge of excel and PLM required
  • Self-starter, eager to get involved

The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
