Reporting to: Assistant Planning Manager

As a seasoned Planning Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing requirements to support all projects and strategic initiatives across studio operations. This role will work in direct partnership with multiple business units to help drive long-term strategies in key initiatives that drive growth and profit improvements. You will be responsible for making clear recommendations on how to improve internal processes, as well as optimize our production by developing processes and analyzing data from different sources. You will need to work cross-functionally, be collaborative and open to feedback,

Responsibilities

Reporting and forecasting (40%)

  • Participate in the assessment of current and future data needs that may evolve with the business
  • Establish key performance indicators and simplify and improve internal and external dashboards to provide business visibility into operational performance, as well as ensure reporting methods are maintained
  • Proactively provide recommendations to the Assistant Planning Manager to advance financial planning initiatives and optimize business intelligence systems
  • Turn all strategic and growth initiatives into operational metrics and dashboards to monitor project performance results
  • Perform all ad hoc requests regarding reports and data analysis, formulate indicators and establish analytical models for different forecasting needs

Strategy and growth support (40%)

  • Conduct analysis and develop business cases for studio initiatives related to new ways of working, including through new or improved technology solutions and enterprise initiatives supported by studio operations
  • Suggest thoughtful methodologies for the analysis of the operational needs of a project
  • Create models that support financial decisions and reduce business risk
  • Proactively anticipate, identify and remove roadblocks and work cross-functionally to ensure everything goes according to plan
  • Act as a liaison and collaborate with various technical experts and business partners in the studio, including finance, technology, product and real estate to develop strategy, bring together requirements for a project and understand user needs
  • Document the business needs and requirements of internal and external stakeholders for assigned projects

Integration and business processes (20%)

  • Simplify and optimize internal processes and interaction flows between the various studio stakeholders, including finance, technology, product and real estate to contribute to data harmonization and to ensure the integration of growth initiatives
  • Execute continuous business process reviews, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions
  • Maintain and enhance the knowledge base of the studio planning team through standardized, concise and relevant documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, information technology or relevant field
  • Between three and five years of experience in business analysis, data analysis or project management
  • Experience in data processing, manipulation of large data sets, database queries, data analysis and report production
  • Experience with data management and data visualization software, e.g. Tableau or other similar data discovery or visualization tools a plus
  • Knowledge of process mapping software (Lucidchart, Visio)
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, French is an asset
