Job Description

Main Job Objective

The Senior Manager Demand Planning, for North America (NA), will be responsible for providing an accurate demand plan to guide the gross shipment plan for the North America business. As a member of the Business Planning, North America team, the Senior Manager, Demand Planning will work directly the Associate Director, Global Forecasting, Marketing, and Finance, on the operational demand plan by SKU/Channel/Market in order to align in strategy. With a strong understanding of sales strategy, financial analysis, and retail operations excellence, the Senior Manager, Demand Planning will directly support all North America Channels.

Profile

Responsibilities

  • Maintain SKU level market, distribution center, and retailer forecasts
  • Validate demand trends and sales drivers for forecast modeling and analysis (major events, transitions, new & discontinued)
  • Analyze the demand accuracy, drive improvement actions and accountability
  • Communicate ongoing forecast changes to Sales Development, Global Forecasting, Marketing, & Finance
  • Lead in the creation of new product forecasts and their contribution to product categories
  • Work closely with Sales Development on guidelines for forecasting new launch products/limited life forecasts
  • Prepare various KPI reports on a weekly and monthly basis to monitor and access performance and trend (See reports below)
  • Assess SKU performance by retail channel, i.e. Productivity Analysis
  • Compare and monitor launch and limited life shipments vs. forecast for the overall brand
  • Access new launch influence on existing products or categories for cannibalization or growth
  • Attend monthly forecast review meetings and reconcile Na Skus with Global Forecasting Team
  • Achieve forecast accuracy goals in total and by channel
  • Share new launch insights and learnings, make data driven recommendations for improvement

Key Reporting:

  • Prepare and distribute Na Basic/New/Promo Report on a weekly basis
  • Prepare and distribute Holiday Set Performance, Spring Set Performance on a weekly basis
  • Prepare and distribute all New Launch/Limited Life Performance on a weekly basis
  • Prepare and distribute Na sampling reports
  • Review and reconcile Forecast Actuals vs. Plan

What you will learn and achieve in the first 6 months:

  • Achieve full fluency in quota, inventory management systems, AX
  • Achieve full fluency in forecasting tools
  • Define monthly consensus meetings with key stakeholders in North America
  • Create new toolset to Internal and External partners to facilitate forecasting conversations regarding new launches, limited life
  • Develop relationships with key internal partners

What you will achieve in 12 months:

  • Be on track to achieve Global forecast accuracy targets for key accounts and develop understanding of the drivers and inhibitors of the results with an action-oriented mindset.
  • Create seamless working structure for forecasting with key milestones clearly defined
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings with key stakeholders in North America

Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • At least seven years of experience in Demand Planning, Sales Development, Supply Chain, Finance or Retail Operations
  • Knowledge of sales strategy and brand positioning required
  • Advanced to Expert Excel skills required
  • Experience working with and building & maintaining relationships with retailers
  • Strong business acumen and financial aptitude
  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask, managing several projects at once
  • Achievement and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
