Job Description

The Role:

We are looking for a talented, creative producer to come and join our growing creative team. You will be responsible for the delivery of original creative content across the Violet Grey channels. You will aid the creative teams by ensuring that this content is on-brand, of the highest quality and delivered to the agreed budget.

The role takes full responsibility for the production and logistics of photographic and video shoots. You will be responsible for the negotiation and booking of all members of the creative teams for shoots, models, and talent where appropriate. You will join a progressive and innovative team that creates and delivers compelling content.

You will also ensure that all members of the creative team have the necessary assets to deliver their work on time, checking in with relevant individuals and departments internally and externally as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and handle production of all Violet Grey creative content.
  • Assess and confirm brief objectives and deliverables with budget and timelines before beginning production. Often working backwards from budgets.
  • Critical evaluation of briefs and troubleshooting of ideas to help ensure projects are achievable within timeframe and budget.
  • Maintain and refresh repository of creatives within the fashion industry, including the agencies representing them – at the highest level internationally.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with talent publicists internationally.
  • Liaise with agents, clients and artists on all production related topics including travel arrangements and logistics (transport, accommodation etc).
  • Manage the production schedule of each photographic and video project, including pre-production and post production elements
  • Management of the production estimates and budget for each photographic project.
  • Filing, raising and tracking invoice payments for freelance contributors.
  • Option and negotiate the best rates for all freelance contributors for creative projects.
  • Negotiate and manage appropriate usage rights for all original creative projects.
  • Oversee all suppliers to ensure execution of requirements.
  • Work with external film production teams to oversee and manage production of film.
  • Keep track of expenses, invoices and legal documents where relevant.
  • File and report all expenses at the end of each month
  • Organize and backup all original assets on Dropbox in a clear manner so all team members can easily locate
  • Have a clear understanding and overview of the content calendar and all of its creative requirements and deadlines
  • Liaise between departments to ensure all members of the creative team have the tools they need to execute their tasks in a timely manner

Who You Are

General Responsibilities:

  • Seek best possible solutions for studio or location that fit the narrative and mood board of a story, recce’ing where time and budget allows.
  • Stay abreast of creative talent within the industry globally, including photographers, stylists, models, set designers, hair and make-up stylists etc.
  • Ensure planning of all shoots is completed in advance of the shoot date, giving the creative process plenty of time to develop a strong campaign narrative with the right talent
  • Proactively think of new creative ideas for editorial content including location suggestions.

When on set:

  • Ensure that creative teams are supported at all times, creating a comfortable environment for everyone to work in. Be solutions minded but also cognizant of budgets.
  • Make backup of creative at the end of every shoot for Violet Grey and crew to take away.
  • Manage the post production of images from order through retouch and final delivery.
  • Support client and talent with any housekeeping requests (taxi’s, lunch, dietary requests etc) and ensure shoot is keeping within timing and schedules

Who you are:

  • Extensive experience and expertise in photographic shoot production for beauty/fashion.
  • Excellent knowledge of and contacts within the market with regards to photographers, stylists, set designers, hair & make-up artists, model agencies and celebrity.
  • A good understanding of beauty/fashion and photographic trends.
  • Experience in the luxury beauty/fashion market. Editorial or Ecomm
  • Able to multitask, to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and time management skills.
  • A solution focused approach with the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Detail oriented and well-organized
  • Ability to manage budgets
