Job Description

Chanel is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our People & Organization team, supporting our Fragrance & Beauty Division. You will lead the execution of core Human Resources processes as well as identifying opportunities for specific people strategies. You will be a key business partner to the Boutique Leadership Team, helping to build leadership skills and driving performance in a human driven way. Our ideal candidate will be both hands on and strategic, drawing upon their passion for building relationships and experience in creating effective solutions.

What impact you can create at Chanel:

Performance Management:

  • Partner with Boutique Leadership to proactively identify opportunity areas and performance gaps
  • Identify opportunities to further develop talent, enhance employee engagement, and drive Performance@Chanel. Work with relevant partners and SMEs to build/buy/or recommend most effective strategies to fill those gaps
  • Collaborate with Boutique Leadership and F&B P&O team to ensure consistency in handling of performance matters and administration of processes

Talent Development:

  • Support Boutique Leadership in conducting career discussions with team members, highlighting developmental needs.
  • Execute company people strategies with an emphasis on human driven coaching
  • Work across the People & Organization team to foster high levels of collaboration, partnership and talent sharing, particularly within F&B Flagship, Atelier, and Fashion Boutiques

Employee Relations:

  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations
  • Consult with the internal P&O Team/ Legal Team to ensure consistency in handling of employee relations issues
  • Support Boutique Leadership by providing guidance on coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions

Recruitment:

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to fill open roles, specifically acting as a key influencer in the hiring of Boutique Leadership
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and BLT to build a diverse pipeline of candidates in the market for future openings.
  • Partner with Boutique Leadership and Education to onboard and integrate new team members

Compliance / Policy / Procedure:

  • Remain knowledgeable of employment best practices and Federal/State employment application with: business process, talent management and development, hiring, employee relations, policies, and procedures, change management, problem solving, meeting design, etc.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Retail Operations, and Total Rewards to align on local policy and compliance inquiries.

What you can bring to the team…

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), strong relationship building skills as well as the ability to influence and assess situations objectively
  • Prior experience as a HR Generalist
  • Prior retail experience and strong employee relations experience
  • Strong detail orientation and process efficiency
  • Comfort with HRIS systems (such as Workday) and Excel

Position Logistics:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of core HR experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • This position is based in Los Angeles, with about 30% travel
