Job Description

The objective of the new concept is:

  • To align with our brand long-term purpose and build on client insights.
  • To measure on engagement & learnings and not sales.
  • To be additive to Chanel Fragrance & Beauty online and offline ecosystem.
  • To explore and evaluate new technologies and retail processed and report findings to the larger Chanel community.

Position Summary

The Retail Innovation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Fragrance & Beauty Retail Innovation projects. This position will be a key role meant to organize and keep the corporate team on task, on time, and on budget. The role will be heavily administrative and project management focused but will have opportunities to aid in other areas including events/partnerships, product, operations, people/education and digital.

This role must understand the underlying experience principles of Atelier Beauté Chanel and ensure that all actions taken adhere to the original intent, the values of the brand and the expected business results. This is a full-time position based in Nyc, reporting to Head of Operations, Global Long Term Development Retail Innovation.

Functional Responsibilities

Administrative Support (50%)

  • Team calendar management and travel planning; project calendar management.
  • Manage and schedule cadence for internal meetings: quarterly review, project debriefs and divisional reviews, meetings with internal partners, i.e. .com, Media & Analytics, It, Fragrance & Beauty.
  • Manage office supply flow for team.
  • Oversee total team T&E budget.
  • Meeting planning: attendees, security, catering and set-up, Av requirements and executive scheduling.
  • Administrative Assistant responsibilities for the Head of Retail Innovation, Global Long Term Development as needed: meeting coordination, expenses, travel.
  • Lead in taking notes or posting meeting minutes.
  • Research & plan retail safari competitive shopping missions for corporate team: newest pop ups, noteworthy retail experiences and/or new concepts in around Nyc.

Project Management Support (30%)

  • Manage new vendor set-up and paperwork liaising with Legal and Accounts Payable partners.
  • Liaise with internal departments in support of individual team goals and priorities.
  • Assist with budget management: track, code and maintain invoicing and payment schedules.

Special Projects (20%)

  • Conduct ad hoc trend / competitive analysis and market reviews within and outside of the beauty industry.
  • Support Atelier team with specific project needs with clear start and end date (not to be ongoing support) such as specific needs around Vip events, Executive / Global walk throughs or exclusive launches.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus.
  • Passion for the beauty industry, entrepreneurship, trends, social media and Nyc.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and prioritize evolving tasks.
  • Ability to problem solve and propose multiple solutions.
  • Seasoned and comfortable using social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat.
  • Expert-level fluency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
