Reporting to the Associate Store Manager of Operations, the Assistant Manager, Inventory Operations will be responsible for overseeing the process and operations of the inventory on-hand; through incoming and outgoing transfers of goods, as well as density management for Ssense Montreal. The candidate will ensure accuracy, speed, and efficient inventory flow , to enhance and maximize the customer experience. The candidate will contribute to a flawless execution and delivery that meets the Ssense promise to customers, as well as quickly identifying and addressing any issues that may impact the client experience. The candidate will foster a positive work environment that embraces Ssense brand values and achieves key company objectives. They will coach and mentor direct reports to improve performance, develop future leaders and a talent pipeline, while identifying external talent for Ssense Montreal’s retail business.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience – 10%

  • Support managing the customer journey through visitor and appointment-based shopping models. To ensure an outstanding customer experience is consistently achieved; support should include productivity, presentations, inventory management, transaction processing and after sales service
  • Assist with client issues for a resolution and win-win solutions that enhance customer experiences

Operations – 60%

  • Track and achieve inventory Kpis using a metric dashboard, ensuring information is communicated to the store team and stakeholders in a timely and actionable manner.
  • Management of Inventory Specialists and Visual Associates groups’ payroll budgets to maximize productivity and enhance customer experience
  • Establish and continuously improve the process of inbound and outbound inventory flow. Deliver on customer promise and support the sales team to maximize client satisfaction.
  • Build strong relationships with the warehouse and technology teams to continuously improve processes that drive productivity and quality of customer service.
  • Ensure inventory count is managed accurately and efficiently, leveraging Ssense Systems and technology as necessary.
  • Analyze, proactively communicate, and react to inventory planning. Maintain proper inventory density on hand, turnover, and flow to support business goals
  • Maintain current visual direction through identifying, communicating and ensuring highest standards of visual presentation to drive growth through product assortment and presentation optimization
  • Ensure the functionality of in-store technology and security systems in support of the inbound and outbound inventory management.
  • Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management and transaction accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance of store operations, health and safety, maintenance and company policies and protocols.

Leadership – 30%

  • Ensure all Inventory Specialists and Visual Associates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skill sets
  • Motivate and engage the team in contributing to the achievement of business goals, as well as company’s vision and values
  • Recruit, train and develop talent pipeline. Build succession plans.
  • Participate in training programs development and maintenance for all levels of the team based on learning opportunities
  • Build and develop best-in-class, client-centric teams. Continually evaluate the performance of each staff member, provide feedback that ensures results and addresses performance management issues in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years management experience in a high volume client-facing environment and retail operations
  • College or University degree in Logistics, Business, Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience establishing trusting relationships in an omni-channel environment
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes (15kg)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Web and computer-savviness
  • Hours/days of work can be varied due to the demands of the business
