Reports to: Assistant Studio Merchandise Manager
As Team Leader, Studio Workflow, you will work at our head office on Chabanel Street, as well as at our distribution center located in Saint-Laurent, to manage a highly skilled team of coordinators. studio assistants in support of all studio services, while ensuring efficient management of merchandise. In addition to being part of a multidisciplinary digital commerce content production team, you will be responsible for operational performance and maintaining quality standards. You will also ensure the delivery of all necessary inventory or samples to each branch of production and the strategic planning of the flow of goods for projects and special launches. In this role,
Responsibilities
Merchandise management – 40%
- Oversee the flow of merchandise within studio operations, while ensuring accurate inventory data and location at all times
- Lead the delegation of merchandise-related activities, including special projects and launches, ensuring that all garments and samples are prepped and ready for photo shoots or related editorial (unboxed, hand washed, steam, etc.)
- Follow up with studio stakeholders by providing regular updates and visibility through stakeholder engagement, in addition to initiating action plans to manage delays impacting the content, timing or quality
- Build and develop scalable processes, procedures and systems to optimize operational efficiencies and operationalize studio initiatives and strategic business objectives
- Report on performance metrics and key performance indicators to identify actionable corrective actions to improve workflow and merchandise handling
- Manage the cleanliness, order and safety of the preparation room by applying the 5 S methodology
- Ensure adherence to security, health and safety procedures within the department
- Perform service equipment management, ensure proper equipment maintenance and resolve any related issues
- Work with planning and production departments to review inventory quantity capacity and resource plans against planned production, identify capacity and quantity risks and recommend response plans
Continuous improvement – 40%
- Contribute to the implementation of studio and corporate initiatives by applying operational best practices, while encouraging cross-functional collaboration and adopting a continuous improvement approach
- Develop and implement achievable action plans to optimize day-to-day operations, productivity and communications
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve tools, standardize and optimize procedures related to services that affect the studio’s merchandise
Staff Leadership and Skills Development – 20%
- Develop and implement talent resource plans and work schedules to meet seasonal requirements
- Support staffing efforts by recruiting, managing and fostering the retention of high caliber contract studio assistants as well as an inventory of freelancers during peak season in production to support full-time staff
- Create training manuals and oversee the establishment of training programs
- Develop staff skills, demonstrate leadership, and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to the studio assistant team through frequent one-on-one meetings and performance reviews
- Ensure team mobilization by frequently assessing team spirit and implementing the necessary measures to create a work environment that promotes healthy communication, collaboration and productivity
Qualifications
- College or university degree in fashion marketing, administration or related analytical field
- Five years of coordination or logistics experience in the fashion or e-commerce industry
- One or two years of leadership experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of textiles and garment care
- Experience working with garments an asset
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets
- Fluency in English and French, both oral and written
- Experience drafting, documenting and implementing new procedures
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems an asset
- Knowledge of warehouse operations an asset
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to walk 5 km per day with equipment and stand for extended periods as needed
