Job Description

What is This Position All About

This role has full oversight of the Sfa customs compliance teams both Us and Canada, and ensures the compliance program successfully operates within federal guidelines, and identifies opportunities that would support the department and Sfa organization in meeting their goals in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

This role is responsible for building and managing relationships with customs brokers, buying agents and vendors that supply merchandise to Sfa. This role works to ensure that vendors meet their obligation of providing materiality for products shipped to Sfa. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role and he/she must be able to negotiate and collaborate with vendors to ensure they understand and adhere to the Sfa requirements.

This role requires strong analytical and leadership qualities. This role works closely with both internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams: buying agents, merchants, supply chain, finance, legal, and vendor compliance.

Responsibilities

Compliance Management

  • Directs the customs compliance program in the Us and Canada for Sfa.
  • Leads a team in the Us, Canada and India managing data entry, order management and progress reporting.
  • Ensures all products are cleared through customs adhering to Federal and Cbp guidelines.

Data Management / Reporting

  • Provide annual performance reporting and monthly / weekly financial reporting to accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with It partners on data entry / system maintenance and improvements.

Communication

  • Interact with the merchant / buying teams, vendors and buying agents, as well as Us and Canada customs brokers and logistics service providers.
  • Manages vendor and buying agent relationships to ensure supporting documents and seasonal product information is provided on a timely basis.

You Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain and / or a related field required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing numerous priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to bring together and manage interactions with employees from across the organization.
  • Outstanding relationship building and presentation skills to internal, external and senior management audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent problem solver and ability to manage difficult situations with tact and creativity.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as the Google Office suite.
  • Customs Broker License preferred although not required. rior experience in Talent Acquisition, Staffing or Agency Recruiting supporting luxury retail required
