A day in the life…

The Business Process Improvement Manager (Sr, Mgr)) is an effective leader, problem solver, committed to using Business Process Methodologies (Bpm) to improve the productivity and engagement of the organization through better processes, tools and thinking.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive and results-oriented. This individual has a unique blend of retail business knowledge, Bpm skills (including notation), project or program management skills, and technical knowledge or analysis skills.

The ideal candidate will…

  • Manage and mentor a small team
  • Design & Implement strategies to improve efficiency
  • Work with leadership to review strategies within the context of the E2E High Level Process
  • Be customer focused and use process to understand and illustrate the problem to solve
    • map business capabilities and key processes
    • assess areas for improvement
    • eliminate “tasks” that do not add value (remove waste)

  • Builds trust by acting as a liason between business leadership stakeholders, product managers and technology
    • Process map to show outcomes
    • Use process to show risks or possible painpoints

  • Lead process design to facilitate development of cross-functional business solutions that combine knowledge of business processes and issues, general technological options and process improvement techniques
  • Manages complexity by breaking apart the process for discovery efforts and to identify other areas to bring into projects (upstream or downstream)
  • Help develop and maintain software that supports the business process
  • Demonstrates decision quality when evaluating technology updates within the context of business process (where it fits)
  • Communicate and collaborate with Technology groups as a process expert to help capture requirements for technology solutions that enhance merchant experience and support the business process
  • Review and evaluate impacts with other projects in flight to assess timing and sequencing

You own this if you have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, industrial engineering or related field
  • 6+years of experience with demonstrated, comprehensive knowledge of retail business landscape, business analysis, Business Process Management Notation (BpmN), Lean methodologies and tools for process improvement (notation and measurement)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive change in a complex environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build relationships and influence without authority
  • Excellent communication skills at Evp, Svp and Vp levels – verbal, written, presentation and listening
  • Strong organization and project or program management skills including creating and managing a project plan and timeline both for a small project or across a larger initiative with project partners.
  • Executed and driven projects to completion in a timely manner and worked collaboratively with cross-functional partners across the enterprise
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organization levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are required
  • Demonstrated the ability to work without required supervision and direction

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Certification from an accredited organization.
  • Have participated in/or led transformational organization change
