Job Description

CHANEL Inc., a leader in the luxury good industry, is seeking a Specialist, Campaign & Collateral Planner for the Fragrance & Beauty division. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all locations receive inventory/allocations with the proper levels of merchandise to support their financial sales plan; and provide detailed analysis for allocation of key products. This role will manage all collateral forecasts ensuring budget adherence and creation of orders to meet retailer needs by season & launch. A high level of collaboration is required with cross-functional teams to communicate allocation strategies that support new product launches and overall financial objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

Analysis

  • Manage Orders for all non-saleable (displays, testers, samples) products and ensure proper allocation to all accounts to support sales goals and strategies
  • Maintain partnerships with Account Development (AD), Planning Teams, and Marketing to support account business strategies and minimize potential risk factors for shipments
  • Assist in providing analysis of new product launches by account to influence/guide future launch quantities and distribution strategies
  • Assist manager in adhoc strategies including but not limited to campaign analysis and execution, Sku and account productivity

Allocation & Inventory Management

  • Partner with sales, planning, & inventory teams to define the distribution strategy for all launches & discontinuations
  • Work with the Account Development team, Demand Planning, & Marketing to develop inventory needs for opening orders, replenishment, & discontinuations related to new product launches
  • Allocate all elements of a campaign by account based on feedback from Ad taking into account retailer sales plan and highlight any risks or opportunities by SKU
  • Ensure all elements allocated within a new product launch are ordered as forecasted (total acct/door level)
  • Develop reporting tools to monitor tester & sample consumption to ensure business needs are addressed in a timely fashion, identifying risk/opportunity to the overall no-cost budget
  • Assist manager in analyzing and reporting launch performance, stock call outs, manage Po’s
  • Provide on-going analysis and process improvement suggestions

Position Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of retail/wholesale supply chain management inclusive of inventory planning
  • Strong time management, interpersonal, and customer service skills; ability to run concurrent projects, while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Organized and detailed oriented and have demonstrated the ability to prioritize and be able to work both independently and in a team environment on multiple tasks
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with outside contacts, co-workers, and executive level management; ability to interface comfortably and confidently with clear self-expression, both written and verbal
  • Ability to identify problems/issues; collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions/implications. Ability to challenge peers and senior management, as appropriate
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and related financial issues with exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities; financial modeling skills a plus.
  • Must possess excellent Excel skills
  • Extreme proficiency in Pc skills, particularly Microsoft Office (advanced Excel a must, Word and intermediate PowerPoint). Ability to pick-up new applications quickly and effectively. Ability to understand ERP systems (specifically SAP, COGNOS).
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Finance, or business equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Planner/Buyer/Allocation position
  • Position resides in New York; however, travel to New Jersey office will occasionally be required.
