Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Merchandise Planner, the Merchandise Planning Coordinator provides support to Planners by ensuring orders and relevant reports are delivered in a timely and precise manner. They will work closely with the Planning and Buying team, operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an excellent follow-up that is able to apply their strong organizational skills and is eager to gain exposure and participate in analytics.

PO Creation and Maintenance 40%

  • Ensure purchase orders are entered in a timely manner and in accordance with department standards
  • Send purchase orders to vendors and follow up on the status of the orders if necessary
  • Review order confirmations and flag any discrepancies in a timely manner to the respective Planner
  • Work closely with the Logistics department to ensure orders are being shipped as per the vendor lead time
  • Communicate logistics issues to the respective Buyer and Merchandise Planner

Operation Support 60%

  • Generate accurate weekly departmental sales, inventory, and performance data reports for the Everything Else planning team
  • Maintain daily departmental communication and develop strong collaboration among team members in order to problem solve effectively and offer support when needed
  • Provide strong follow up on varying day-to-day tasks leveraging internal and external relationships to ensure completion in a timely manner so business needs are met
  • Increase hands on knowledge of the replenishment and merchandise planning function by providing support to planning team members
  • Participate in the creation of seasonal templates
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and analysis
  • Participate in providing insights on the performance of the Everything Else business to the Merchandise Planner or Manager

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
  • A minimum of 1 year relevant experience, preferably in the fashion and retail industry
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French is an asset
  • Knowledge of luxury, retail or e-commerce, an asset
