Job Description

A Senior Project Manager is part of a key team of professionals managing programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. Specifically, this role is focused on the acceptance, delivery and deployment of strategic engineering and systems initiatives, using a combination of business acumen and technical proficiency. The senior Project manager partners with cross functional internal and external stakeholders to see that a project is launched, managed and deployed consistently using the agreed standard project management methodology. This person communicates project status and escalation is given where executive steering is necessary.

A day in the life…

  • Maintain a professional standard on their project by working closely with peers and management to focus on consistency
  • Drive coordinated effort across cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones
  • Develop and drive adherence to project reporting structure across leaders at all levels of the organization
  • Responsible for the delivery of a project to the specification across all internal and external partners.
  • Translate delivery milestones and budget details aligned to scope from supporting partners into a single managed integrated view to achieve project objectives and maintain project discipline
  • Create project updates across multiple leadership levels—direct project updates to Executive Team level
  • Escalate issues to VP level leaders for actionable decision making
  • Facilitate communication clearly and concisely across stakeholder teams, providing transparency to milestones and needs
  • Serve as a lead resource for dealing with challenging business issues
  • This position may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, information systems or similar field
  • 6+ years of extensive experience leading large, cross-functional, high-profile projects or programs
  • Unique ability to review and accept complete cross functional requirements (engineering, software, site improvement etc.) and manage delivery to those requirements with internal and external partners for successful deployment for scope, timeline and budget
  • Manage the playbook for deployment to meet business requirements and operational capacity across all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated aptitude in developing success criteria to meet project goals and objectives
  • Consistent track record of successful delivery while maintaining project discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and influence leaders at all levels
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex information to surface and articulate the most salient points
  • Supply chain expertise in retail or consumer goods preferred; with specific focus on logistics and distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or store operations and understanding of industry dynamics
  • Ideally certified in project management disciplines (Project Management Professional – Pmp) or demonstrated like experiences
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
