Reporting to the Associate Manager of Studio Merchandise, the Studio Team Lead Inbound/Outbound will work from our Head Office located on Chabanel street, as well as our Distribution Center located in Ville Saint Laurent to manage a team of highly qualified Studio Assistants and Studio Assistant Coordinators to support all studio departments by ensuring seamless merchandise management. They are responsible for operational performance and maintaining quality standards, ensuring the accuracy of inventory and stock locations at all times and overseeing the flow of goods to and from the Distribution Center(s). This role works closely with all Studio functions, the Supply Chain, and Distribution Center, and requires a highly collaborative style and the ability to influence and motivate.
Responsibilities
Merchandise Management – 40%
- Provide direction and leadership to Studio Assistants and Studio Assistant Coordinators
- Oversee the flow of goods to and from the Distribution Center(s) and across studio operations, ensuring accuracy of inventory and locations at all times
- Ensure studio stakeholders are provided with regular updates and visibility, work closely with the Supply Chain by constantly following up with the appropriate parties, and applying action plans to handle delays that impact the content, schedule or quality
- Use inventory control and other auditing measures for cycles of incoming and outgoing merchandise to implement scalable processes, procedures and systems, to drive operational effectiveness, and to operationalize studio initiatives and business strategic objectives
- Report on performance metrics and KPIs to provide actionable corrective measures to improve the flow of operations and handling of goods
- Manage cleanliness, order and safety in the preparation room by implementing and sustaining a 5S strategy
- Ensure adherence to security, health & safety procedures within the department
- Manage departmental supplies, ensure adequate maintenance of equipment and troubleshoot any related issues
- Collaborate with the Planning and Producing department to vet inventory level capacity and resource plans against the production forecast, identify potential capacity and capability risks and recommend contingency plans
Continuous Improvement – 40%
- Contribute to the implementation of studio and business initiatives by applying operational best practices, engaging in cross-departmental collaboration and taking on a continuous improvement approach.
- Initiate and develop actionable execution plans to optimize daily operations, productivity and communication
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance tools and standardize and optimize procedures related to Studio Merchandise services
People Leadership and Development – 20%
- Develop and implement talent resource plan and work schedules to accommodate seasonal requirements
- Support hiring efforts by recruiting, managing and maintaining high-caliber of contractual studio assistants as well as a roster of freelancers during peak production times to supplement full-time staff
- Build training manuals and oversee the implementation training programs
- Develop talent and consistently provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training to the studio assistant team through frequent one-on-ones
- Ensure team mobilization by regularly gauging team spirit and implementing appropriate means to create a work environment that fosters healthy communication, collaboration and productivity
Qualifications
- College or University diploma in Fashion Marketing, Business Administration, or a related analytical field
- 5 years experience in coordination or logistics within a fashion or e-commerce environment
- 1-2 years of leadership experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of textiles and garment care
- Experience working with apparel, an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Experience drafting, documenting and implementing new procedures
- Knowledge of WMS systems, an asset
- Understanding of warehouse operations, an asset
- Open to working evenings and weekends, as required
- Ability to walk 5 km per day with equipment and/or stand for extended periods, when required
