Summary
Responsible for protecting customers, employees, merchandise, and store assets through prevention, investigation, and response to theft and safety incidents. Partners with store Emergency Response Team and leadership to maintain secure environments and support inventory accuracy. Utilizes surveillance, reporting, and investigative techniques to resolve incidents and drive shrinkage reduction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and leadership guidance
- Monitor video systems and leverage RFID and surveillance data to support investigations
- Identify theft trends and implement action plans to reduce shrinkage
- Investigate internal and external theft by gathering evidence and partnering with investigation teams
- Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings and shrinkage awareness training
- Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training
- Testify in court when summonsed for criminal or civil cases
Requirements
- Ability to make and be accountable for decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain high level of confidentiality and calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership
