Summary
The Asset Protection Agent protects customers, employees, merchandise, and physical sites by preventing and investigating theft, supporting emergency response, and maintaining store security. This role partners with store leadership and local authorities to respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and support shrinkage reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality apprehensions and resolve theft incidents following policy and AP leadership guidance
- Monitor video systems and surveillance to identify and investigate theft activity
- Leverage reporting, exception-based systems, and RFID data to identify theft trends and support investigations
- Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, policy violations, and investigations
- Respond to, escalate, and report security and emergency incidents including medical emergencies
- Lead security audits and participate in store meetings to support physical space protection
- Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency response training including First Aid
- Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases
- Build partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement
Requirements
- Ability to make accountable decisions and use good judgment in a fast paced environment
- Clear verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and a calm demeanor when handling aggressive behavior
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Meet any state and local licensing requirements
- Experience in investigative, asset protection, or security procedures preferred
- Initiative, accountability, and a high level of ownership
