Summary

The Assistant Sales Department Manager supports the department manager in achieving sales and productivity goals through directive selling, team leadership, coaching, merchandising oversight, and inventory control while delivering exceptional customer experiences on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate department sales team
• Support department manager in developing and executing business plans to meet volume and productivity goals
• Coach and lead salespeople to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales
• Actively sell on the floor to build customer relationships and loyalty
• Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
• Assist with accurate inventory management and achieving shrinkage goals
• Collaborate with store and divisional leaders to maintain productive relationships

• Track record of successful sales results and strong productivity
• Competitive drive and confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with managers and merchandisers
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
