Job Description

Summary

The Designated Selling Associate is a fashion focused salesperson who builds one-on-one customer relationships, drives in-store and digital sales, and represents a designated brand within the store. The role emphasizes product knowledge, merchandising, appointment based selling, and supporting team goals while working a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve sales goals for in-store and digital channels using selling tools including text and social media
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with customers and grow Nordstrom Rewards accounts
  • Provide expert style and fit guidance to customers and educate peers on brand trends and product knowledge
  • Drive appointment based selling during event and non event timeframes
  • Support merchandising tasks including stocking, remerchandising, displays, price markdowns and transfers
  • Conduct DSA run product knowledge meetings and collaborate with surrounding departments
  • Provide product feedback to the department manager to influence assortment
  • Be flexible to assist in other departments or brands as business needs require

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish customer rapport
  • Ability to excel in a competitive team environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Comfort working a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Ability to read sales reporting and use it to meet goals
  • Strong product and fashion knowledge with ability to educate customers on brands and styling
  • Confidence selling across a range of price points and demonstrating item value
  • Organizational skills to strategically follow up with customers about wardrobe needs
  • Physical ability to stand and move for 6-8 hours, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform frequent bending and reaching
