Summary
Protect company assets and maintain a safe environment for clients and associates through proactive loss prevention, investigations, and security procedures. Perform store opening and closing duties, monitor CCTV, conduct internal and external investigations, and respond to emergencies while maintaining confidentiality and clear documentation.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store following company procedures
- Perform operational and inventory control audits and follow up for compliance
- Support operations and sales teams with inventory counts and shortage programs
- Conduct routine floor walks and inspections to maintain business integrity
- Monitor CCTV systems and dispatch as needed
- Conduct internal and external investigations and maintain precise investigation reports
- Apprehend shoplifters while preserving elements of proof and documentation
- Testify at criminal proceedings when appropriate
- Respond to emergencies providing first aid or security procedures and follow up with reports
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in loss prevention or safety and security in a retail environment
- Valid provincial security license required upon hire and to be maintained
- Valid standard first aid CPR and AED certification required upon hire and to be maintained
- Strong confidentiality, investigative, and note taking skills
- Problem solving and de escalation skills
- Experience with investigative and interview techniques is an asset
- Knowledge of privacy policies regulations and cyber security measures
