Summary
The Maintenance Technician II leads and mentors a facilities team to maintain a safe and operational store environment across multiple Nordstrom locations. This role supports the Facility Manager in executing preventive maintenance, responding to break fix requests, troubleshooting building systems, and coordinating with vendors and store leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform planned and on demand preventive maintenance on critical and non critical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to store operations
- Operate and monitor building controls and EMCS including alarm troubleshooting
- Perform equipment and building rounds, identify and report malfunctions
- Delegate tasks and mentor other technicians on maintenance procedures
- Assist with parts ordering, PO creation, vendor management, and administrative tasks
- Respond to location emergencies and support multiple store locations within a node
- Update CMMS to maintain accurate equipment records and inventory
- Promote and adhere to safety procedures including LOTO and PPE
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; vocational or associate degree preferred
- 5 years minimum hands on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance
- 5+ years conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures
- 5+ years experience with HVAC refrigeration carpentry plumbing electrical and mechanical repairs
- Ability to troubleshoot low voltage signals and logical devices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS and ordering systems
- Knowledge of computer networking systems and electromechanical maintenance
- Ability to work without supervision manage multiple deadlines and maintain a flexible schedule
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more and perform physical labor tasks
