Quality Assurance Inspector

Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector performs inspections of serviced and client owned merchandise including jewelry, silver goods, watches, leather goods and sunglasses using established standards. The role documents and communicates inspection results to Repair Services and Operations to ensure servicing quality meets client expectations and assists in training new team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on serviced new and client owned merchandise using established repair standards
• Record detailed inspection findings and evaluate gemstones against guidelines
• Provide detailed inspection results to technicians to ensure servicing meets standards
• Manage workflow of orders and prioritize client due dates and inspection needs
• Review incoming merchandise and provide direction on next steps and solutions
• Maintain systematic records and reports to capture inspection results and trends
• Partner with technicians and management to identify methods to improve servicing quality

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of jewelry experience
• Completion of Graduate Gemology degree or completion of GIA courses
• Previous Quality Assurance experience and microscope experience
• Ability to work using a microscope for extended periods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
• Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime and possible weekends
• Strong attention to detail and English verbal and written communication skills
