Tiffany & Co is looking to hire a Director, Corporate and Technical Accounting, who is a strong team player who enjoys working across the organization to provide guidance, research, and analysis regarding technical accounting issues. As Tiffany’s primary contact for technical accounting and policy questions, this highly visible role will liaise with various areas of the organization including Retail, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, Legal, Fp&A, and Treasury.
This position is responsible for the analysis of new and existing accounting pronouncements, the development of implementation plans, and the development and maintenance of related accounting policy documentation. In this capacity, it will be necessary for this individual to partner with internal business customers, the Company’s external auditor firm, and other consultants as necessary to drive global adoption of new accounting standards.
This position is also responsible for the oversight of all corporate accounting activities. This includes the financial closing of the corporate holding entities in addition to global accounting for derivatives, debt, pension, and royalty programs, as well as the oversight of the consolidated PL variations process. Accordingly, this individual will partner closely with the international markets to provide accounting support.
Location: This position is in-person at our facilitiy in Parsippany, NJ with a hybrid-optional schedule.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead the financial close of corporate activities and holding companies, which includes oversight of the accounting for the Company’s hedging programs, pension plans, royalties, and debt, as well as preparation and review of consolidated P&L variations.
Analyze and review new and existing accounting pronouncements and drive global adoption in accordance with Ifrs and Lvmh policies. Develop and lead the execution of cross-functional implementation plans, including the evaluation of the impact to the Company, preparation of summary key issues/facts, and presentation of results to management.
Prepare, maintain and enhance the Company’s accounting policy documentation including the consolidation of Tiffany policy into a Tiffany Accounting Manual.
Coordinate and complete special projects as requested by management. Includes reviewing non-recurring transactions entered into by the Company, determining the relevant accounting guidance, partnering with Finance and business unit personnel to assess the impact to Company’s financial statements and documenting the results.
