Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Management & Head of Technology HRBPs, the Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the SSENSE Learning & Development function, on an interim basis. Working closely with stakeholders across HR and organization, they will be responsible for crafting a high growth organizational learning strategy to support the business and our employees. The role will require the individual to develop new learning programs, and to identify opportunities for enhancements across current offerings. The successful candidate has a proven track record of delivering high-impact programs across cross-functional user groups, on-site L&D facilitation knowhow, and experience managing a team of HR professionals.

Responsibilities

Learning and Development Strategy + Special Projects – 40%

  • In collaboration with the Senior Director, Talent Management & Head of Technology HRBPs, identify learning strategies and programs to support employee development
  • Establish a roadmap of deliverables for the Learning & Development team in collaboration with HR Business Partners- balancing organizational / departmental priorities and initiatives
  • Identify continuous improvements for existing Learning programs, and establish priorities and timelines for the team
  • Establish milestones and KPIs for learning programs in order to assess the impact of delivered initiatives
  • Incorporate an SSENSE-wide point of view on Hybrid learning initiatives that support the organization during its growth

Learning and Development Delivery – 30%

  • Be hands-on, craft and deliver programs across learning & development in partnership with the Talent Management team
  • Own the end-to-end strategy, stakeholder management, and deployment for learning & development at SSENS, supporting both at the organizational and departmental level
  • Ensure sound project and change management plans are in place for learning programs ahead of delivery or enhancements
  • Build tools, documentation, content, communication plans, etc. to ensure the successful rollout and adoptions of new and existing programs

People Leadership – 30%

  • Lead the creation and development of training documentation for the team
  • Hold weekly one-on-ones, conduct performance reviews, analyze individual Kpis and assess promotion readiness to help each contributor evolve in their roles
  • Foster team engagement, through identifying & developing talent and driving team performance
  • Work with Senior Leadership to gage and monitor team engagement and implement solutions to create a transparent, collaborative and productive work environment
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to establish the short term objectives for the department and ensure team’s are engaged towards achieving the department’s missions

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 6 or more years’ experience in a Learning & Development role, ideally with broader People or Business function experience
  • 2 or more years’ of experience in leading a team of L&D professionals and coaching others
  • CHRP or CTDP designation, strong asset
  • Solid understanding of eCommerce functions such as Merchandising, Technology, and on-site experience supporting functions such as Supply Chain/Fulfilment Centres, Retail Operations, etc.
  • Experience with building L&D programs tailored to different functions
  • Advanced project and change management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Experience with Articulate or similar eLearning authoring tools
