As the Director of Wholesale for the US, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding this premium womens brand’s footprint within major department store accounts, nurturing independent accounts, and leading a talented team of Account Executives. The position involves significant travel, underlining the importance of relationship building and face-to-face interactions in growing the brand’s wholesale presence.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Development:
- Identify and execute strategies to open new major department store accounts across the US.
- Develop plans to nurture and grow existing independent account relationships.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
Sales & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major department stores and independent accounts.
- Regularly review sales performance and adjust strategies to ensure revenue targets are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with the internal teams to ensure timely delivery and high product quality to maintain account satisfaction.
Team Leadership:
- Directly manage an Account Executive (AE), providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure the professional development of the AE.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and enthusiasm.
Travel:
- Engage in 25% travel, primarily for relationship-building, sales meetings, and account management.
- Anticipate increased travel as the business grows and expands.
Qualifications:
- Existing current relationships with a range of relevant wholesale accounts, including majors and independents.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in wholesale, with a focus on premium fashion brands.
- Proven track record in acquiring and growing major department store accounts.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing sales teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly, with the flexibility to increase travel as needed.
