Job Description

Summary

The Director/Sr. Director of Store Planning & Interior Design will lead the US and Canada Store Planning & Interior Design team for Diesel North America. This role involves strategic planning, design, and execution of new store openings, shop in shops, refits, and special projects in collaboration with local leadership and Diesel HQ.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the project schedule and budget for new store openings and renovations.
  • Make recommendations based on market trends and strategy for growth in the retail sector.
  • Manage all aspects of new store opening operations, including project scheduling, logistics coordination, sourcing and delivery of store supplies and equipment, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate approval process between USA and HQ and provide feedback for all store design implementation.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and provide ongoing status reports.
  • Manage store renovation operations, including project planning and minimizing business interruptions during renovations.
  • Ensure certification and authorization is obtained and local construction codes are followed.
  • Partner with the Finance Department for invoice processing.
  • Report to SPID HQ architects and liaise with local Architects to maintain deadlines and monitor budgets.
  • Seek technical improvements to store environment and operations.
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD Software for planning and design purposes.
  • Lead department projects to improve systems, design, and processes.
  • Experience in designing, constructing, and facilitating new store openings.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to Architecture, Interior Design/New Store Planning preferred.
  • 10+ years previous experience in Store Design and Project Management.
  • Ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated experience to make strategic recommendations in accordance with design ideas and implementations.
  • Experience building relationships with business partners across all levels of management.
  • Ability to think objectively and interpret themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and highly proficient in Autocad.
  • Understanding of Diesel concepts, ideas, and company evolution.
  • Willingness to travel extensively during new projects.
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with the ability to motivate and persuade.
