We are seeking a strategic and analytical Director of Demand Planning, focusing exclusively on our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels, which include eCommerce and direct retail. This role is pivotal in leading the demand planning function for our portfolio of brands, with a keen focus on developing and executing a data-driven approach to demand forecasting for our online and direct retail operations. Experience in the footwear or apparel industry is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in demand planning within DTC channels, demonstrating expertise in data analysis and the application of technology to significantly improve demand forecasting accuracy and enhance supply chain efficiency in a direct sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive demand forecasting strategy for our DTC channels, leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics to optimize inventory levels across our eCommerce and direct retail operations.
  • Utilize historical sales data from our online and retail stores, alongside market trends and direct customer insights, to generate precise demand forecasts for each product category within our brands.

  • Create and maintain a demand planning process tailored for our DTC operations, ensuring seamless data integration and consistency across eCommerce and direct retail.
  • Analyze performance data to identify demand patterns, trends, and variances, aiming for continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy specific to DTC channels.
  • Implement and manage inventory optimization models specific to eCommerce and direct retail, determining optimal stock levels to meet consumer demand while minimizing excess inventory.

  • Ensure alignment between demand forecasts and procurement strategies with the Production team, optimizing product availability and lead times for DTC operations.
  • Integrate DTC demand planning data into the company’s ERP system and other relevant platforms, enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the DTC demand planning team, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making and fostering continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role, with a focus on DTC demand planning within the footwear or apparel industry.
  • Expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and the use of technology in enhancing demand forecasting accuracy, specifically within eCommerce and direct retail channels.
  • Strong familiarity with DTC dynamics, customer behavior analysis, and the unique challenges and opportunities within direct sales environments.
  • Technical proficiency in ERP systems, Python or R, Google Analytics, Tableau or Power BI, and advanced Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency in a DTC context.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of inspiring a team dedicated to optimizing our direct sales channels through data-driven strategies.

This role is a unique opportunity to leverage your demand planning expertise and analytical skills to drive the success of our DTC operations. If you are passionate about utilizing data to inform strategic decisions and have a proven track record in optimizing direct sales channels, we encourage you to apply.
