Job Description

Summary

Lead the US Merchandising department to provide strategic input on US market product and consumer trends, sales, price positioning, and competitors. Influence product development and ensure US offerings are tailored for local needs while maintaining brand integrity. Advise on the US full price distribution strategy across retail, identify potential areas of risk and growth, and ensure global brand strategy is effectively translated locally.

Responsibilities

  • Translate global brand strategy across local product assortments.
  • Influence product development for local market needs.
  • Ensure US representation of brand strategy and product story.
  • Collaborate with key business partners in HQ and locally.
  • Advise CEO on business strategy alignment.
  • Provide competitive research and analysis.
  • Drive merchandise performance measurement standards.
  • Advise on retail assortments and support local pricing process.
  • Manage and develop Merchandising team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years’ experience in full lifecycle merchandising and buying.
  • Experience across multiple product categories, including Men’s, Women’s & denim.
  • Understanding of US retail markets, dynamics, clients, competitors, and trends.
  • Experience in a buying role in Department Store across multiple product categories.
  • Knowledge of retail math concepts related to pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Experience in a complex or matrix organization.
  • Ability to influence Design and Product Development.
  • Some sales or sales planning experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, and presentation skills.
  • Experience partnering with European HQ preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Expert in retail math and financial measurement concepts.
