Job Description

Summary

The Director of Product Development is a pivotal role responsible for bringing the brand vision to life through private label product assortments. This position requires a trusted, collaborative, and results-oriented leader who will leverage their experience and in-depth knowledge of the marketplace to develop exclusive and differentiated merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead merchant team by setting clear expectations, creating accountability for results, and driving standardization and simplification of work.
  • Establish long-term strategies and annual/seasonal financial plans to identify growth opportunities and promotional strategies.
  • Partner with Creative Director to align on the season’s product direction, fabrications, and key items.
  • Utilize experience to build strong product assortments, driving units, revenue, and managing day-to-day supplier and merchandising operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and execute strategies.
  • Clear understanding of retail math, including margin, markup, and performance impact on financial results.
  • Strong analytical and strategic abilities with the capacity to manage workflow independently and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform job functions, including walking, standing, and frequent use of computers and other technology.
