Job Description

Summary

As the Senior Print Designer, you will partner with our in-house Design team, creating original artwork for our Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) Brands. The ideal candidate is an artist with the ability to create exclusive prints with the appropriate hand and market relevance, to be compelling to the brand’s customer.

Responsibilities

  • Research and report on the latest industry print and art related trend direction, color direction, and technique innovations
  • Design new, original print and pattern designs for target market
  • Present and communicate visually to team patterns and color concepts that are trend, seasonal and brand appropriate
  • Conduct research to support print design and color pattern direction
  • Awareness of brand alignment cross categories and cross departments
  • Deliver results within budget expectations and understand financial impact of decisions

Requirements

  • Degree in Apparel/Fashion Design/Textile/Print/Graphic Design
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of current trends and styles in Fashion, Accessories and/or Home industry & print design
  • Strong understanding of print design and color theory principles
  • Strong understanding of fabric construction and industry printing techniques
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Some management experience helpful
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Solid proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. NedGraphics preferred
  • Knowledge of copyright registration and trademark infringement laws in regards to designing original artwork and utilizing purchased artwork for manufacturing
