Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely review of timecards, ensuring payroll is processed efficiently, and managing various payroll-related tasks within the Compensation and Benefits team of the Human Resources department. This role involves working with multiple levels of management and acting as a leadership presence on the team.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains Enhanced Time and Attendance (ETA) profiles.
• Ensures all employees have access to electronic time off request system and timecard function.
• Provides training and feedback on time reporting and approval responsibilities.
• Reviews and adjusts approved hours worked and PTO application in preparation for payroll processing.
• Audits payroll profiles and confirms tax profile jurisdiction and deductions.
• Anticipates payroll updates and ensures changes are captured in appropriate payroll cycles.
• Partners with Payroll Manager to review and approve payroll register.
• Prepares time and attendance reports.
• Serves as a point of escalation and leadership presence on the team.
• Partners with Benefits team on FMLA cases and applies eligible PTO.
• Creates and reports manual checks as needed.
• Reconciles payroll discrepancies.
• Tracks and processes ADP invoices.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in a similar role and working environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Familiar with multi-state wage and hour laws.
• Proficient in ADP WFN and Enhanced Time and Attendance.
• Experience independently processing payroll.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Superior time management skills.
• Analytical and proficient with numbers.
• Ability to interpret and communicate policy and procedure clearly.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Organized.
