Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational functions in the Chicago Boutique, including inventory control, housekeeping, maintenance, and selling service associates. This role involves adhering to P&L budgets, implementing company policies, and creating efficient processes to support operational efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipping and receiving department, ensuring timely movement of merchandise and adherence to procedural guidelines.
• Oversee and validate cash handling procedures, report to Managing Director, and assist in managerial responsibilities.
• Ensure workflow of after-sales service and manage inventory control associates and operational staff.
• Liaise with corporate construction, maintenance department, and outside vendors for maintenance needs.
• Ensure functionality of IT and phone systems by communicating with corporate contacts.
• Act as a liaison with outside vendors for monthly needs or special events.
• Partner with Managing Director to manage operational team and vendors, ensuring appropriate scheduling, training, and coaching.
• Coordinate and prepare evacuation drills and emergency response preparedness training.
• Oversee operations and after-sales supply orders.
• Train staff to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
• Recruit and maintain an active talent bank for operational positions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of retail management experience in a similar role; luxury environment experience preferred.
• Proficient in shipping and receiving, with excellent computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with knowledge of POS and phone systems.
• Experience in building maintenance and the ability to work under pressure and multi-task with accuracy.
• Collaborative management style and familiarity with international parent companies is a plus.
• Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs. without assistance.
