Job Description

Summary

The HR Controller & Compensation Manager is a pivotal role in the Moncler Group Americas human resources team, responsible for meticulously overseeing and managing all financial aspects related to human resources. This position collaborates closely with human resources, finance, retail leadership, and executive management to manage staff costs, optimize budgeting and forecasting, and provide analytic insights that drive business decisions. With exceptional financial acumen, this position will also play an integral role in shaping the Americas compensation strategy, ensuring strategic alignment with the organization’s people and business objectives, and ultimately contributing to the financial strength and success of the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual HR budget preparation, as well as quarterly and monthly forecasting.
  • Manage the month-end close, ensuring accurate cost allocation and providing variance analysis.
  • Prepare staff cost forecasts in partnership with finance, retail, and HR, ensuring key business priorities and regional staffing strategies are incorporated.
  • Conduct monthly retail productivity analysis and offer recommendations based on performance.
  • Manage department expense allocations, track actuals, and drive forecasting process to reflect business needs.
  • Monitor and report on key HR KPIs.
  • Support the business with HR data and staff cost analysis related to the retail projects and people/business initiatives.
  • Prepare HR data reports as requested and streamline reporting processes through automation where possible.
  • Develop and validate competitive compensation proposals for Retail positions.
  • Participate in annual market salary surveys.
  • Analyze market trends and salaries, presenting findings on both an annual basis and as situations dictate.
  • Audit and compile commission data for selling employees to ensure accurate payments.
  • Audit non-selling incentive to ensure accurate payments.
  • Support development of monthly and annual incentives and bonus providing reports and analysis.
  • Create and continue to assess compensation tools and guidelines to support HR and retail in making informed compensation decisions.
  • Assist the HR Operations Director with overseeing the Region’s compensation review process, particularly focusing on non-manager roles.
  • Ensure that all accounting records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices and maintain a system of strong internal controls.
  • Support annual audit processes and work with both internal and external auditors as well as the Americas Finance department.
  • Perform as a team player and participate in all activities contributing to the overall objectives of the department.
  • Contribute to and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead by example and adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high-level standard of customer service, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required and communicated by management and/or the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, human resources, or related field.
  • 5+ years progressive finance control experience or HR compensation management.
  • Experience in retail, luxury retail, or service/hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Technologically adept with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Tagetik, or similar HR Finance system is required; prior experience with an HRIS is valuable.
  • Creative mindset, driven to find innovative solutions including new technological platforms/tools.
  • Experience with compensation frameworks and variable compensation schemes is a plus.
  • Robust analytical expertise coupled with strong problem-solving skills, and ability to provide astute and actionable data driven recommendations.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills matched by a proactive attitude to manage multiple projects and routines with competing deadlines.
  • Client-centric individual who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Able to build relationships across all levels within the organization and work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Professional presentation; able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all employees, and management.
