Job Description

Summary

The VIP and Press Specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with talent, celebrity stylists, media representatives, tastemakers, and influencers to enhance the Paul Smith brand’s presence and prestige. This role involves co-management of the VIP Studio, securing dressing opportunities that are in line with HQ’s VIP global VIP strategy, press requests, fittings, and coordinating press activities to ensure maximum brand visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with celebrity stylists, media representatives, tastemakers, and influencers.
  • Proactively secure dressing moments that are in line with the VIP Global strategy.
  • Coordinate and host dressing appointments for VIPs and Stylists.
  • Manage Sample Inventory.
  • Check Out/Coordinate all VIP and Press Sample and Store Loans and ensure timely returns are made via post-fitting follow ups.
  • Assist the NA Press Team with Targeted Gifting to talent, media and/or influencers on the West Coast.
  • Support Paul Smith events including logistics, guestlist curation, and budgets.
  • Work with the Press and VIP teams on Custom program.
  • Stay updated on the latest product offerings, promotions, and brand initiatives to effectively engage with talent and press.
  • Provide support to Global press teams on all matters relating to Press and VIP on the West Coast.
  • Prepare regular reports on VIP interactions, press coverage, and event successes.
  • Analyze data to measure the effectiveness of VIP programs and press initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Studio Services Supervisor at Melrose to ensure all press and VIP activities are coordinated, tracked, and reported on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work closely with the store management, sales team, and corporate marketing department to align VIP and Press activities with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to leverage social media for press and VIP engagement.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, embodying Paul Smith’s values and aesthetics in all interactions.
  • Represent Paul Smith at industry events, fashion shows, and networking opportunities when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as outlined by the Press and VIP department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public relations or VIP.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and high-profile clientele.
  • Proven relationships with Stylists, High Level Clientele, Celebrities/VIPs, required.
  • Excellent communication, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of LaunchMetrics.
  • Market awareness and passion for fashion and luxury retail.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
