We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Men’s Department Manager to lead and inspire our team of four dedicated sales associates within our Chicago location. This role requires a leader who is passionate about luxury retail, customer service, and team development. The successful candidate will oversee the men’s department, ensuring that sales goals are met, customer experiences are exceptional, and the department operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four men’s sales associates, fostering a positive and high-performance work environment.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with the overall store team of 13 to create a cohesive and supportive work atmosphere.
Sales & Customer Service:
- Drive sales within the men’s department, ensuring that individual and departmental targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that each client has a personalized and memorable shopping experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences to offer tailored product recommendations.
Operations & Inventory Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the men’s department, including merchandising, inventory control, and stock replenishment.
- Ensure that the department is visually appealing and aligned with brand standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the store manager and buyers to ensure optimal product availability.
Product Knowledge & Training:
- Maintain expert knowledge of the men’s product lines, including fabrics, styles, and trends.
- Conduct regular training sessions for the team to enhance their product knowledge and selling skills.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the department remains competitive and innovative.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the store manager and other department managers to ensure the smooth operation of the entire store.
- Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss sales strategies, performance, and upcoming initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with the team, providing clear instructions, updates, and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the luxury retail sector, preferably within a men’s department.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and motivating sales teams.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for delivering personalized experiences.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of men’s fashion, trends, and luxury products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
