Job Description

The Category Management Analyst for Fine Watches analyzes the global assortment offering for the Fine Watch category, moves product through Replenishment systems in the Us, is responsible for maintaining category architectures and image grids, partners with Marketing and PR teams to execute launch strategy, and ensures accuracy of information communicated to retail locations and the broader Merchandising Division.

Global Assortment Planning & In Store Strategic Execution

  • Support implementation of productive worldwide assortment plans across new and existing products while ensuring brand alignment globally.
  • Drive assortment reviews and makes recommendations at the regional and store level based on sales, efficiency, space mentorship and brand position goals in partnership with the Zones and central cross functional teams.
  • Partner with local merchandising manager to analyze regional forecast and present strategy back to leadership team
  • Distill market feedback into market intelligence that helps to inform product roadmap
  • Support creation of product area information and present to regional teams, highlighting key strategies and initiatives via monthly and quarterly meetings.
  • Perform assortment analysis for the Fine Watch category by region, collection, classification, and price point to provide recommendations for assortment changes, improvements to maximize sales and productivity, identify regional trends, and recommend assortment strategies when appropriate.
  • Support the development of reports and presentations that communicate a high-level view of new product introductions and current assortments.
  • Partner with Creative Visual Merchandising and Store Design to implement global in-store presentations
  • Visit stores to amplify watch strategies and ensure visibility and accuracy of watch presentation
  • Communicate key initiatives, new product launches, assortments, discontinuations, re-class and pricing to cross functional teams.
  • Partner with market leaders to create and implement in-store watch event strategy

Replenishment for US Market

  • Assist in inventory management, adhering to worldwide inventory and availability targets
  • Integrate Demand Planning and Regional sales forecasts to identify inventory needs
  • Support new launches/strategic initiatives by collaborating with cross functional planning teams on launch execution and receipt timing
  • Provide visibility on shipment timing on priority styles and/or new product launches
  • Respond to one off store requests in a timely manner

New Product Launches & Lifecycle Management

  • Owns the creation and maintenance of product plans throughout various stages of development, ensuring accuracy of item detail.
  • Ensure critical SKU level details within category architectures are systematically maintained and project milestones are met on a timely basis.
  • Research product offerings and to aid with the initiation of new product development to ensure the product strategy remains robust and competitive.
  • Analyze classification, price point and sales trends to inform decisions on new product
  • Aid with execution and implementation of formal Lifecycle Planning reviews to achieve style count and productivity targets
  • Conduct key initiative information gathering and research as it pertains to the current assortment.
  • Update systematic obsolescence assortment plans

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years prior Merchandising or Planning experience, preferably with a luxury brand
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to lead others and function effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and uphold departmental standards and business direction
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Possesses overall aesthetic sensibility
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel) with ability to learn new software
  • Undergraduate College degree
