About the Role:

Kristin Ess is looking for a Social Media Manager/Content Creator to help conceptualize and create engaging video content for the brand’s social media accounts, specifically IG, TikTok and Pinterest. If you love following trends and understand the type of content that drives engagement, you may be just the person we’re looking for. The ideal candidate will be a creative and analytical thinker who has a proven track record in creating social media content that increases followers and engagement.

This role reports to the Senior Brand Manager and collaborates closely with the Influencer/PR team, Brand Educator and in-house Creative Studio along with cross-functional teams as necessary.

Key Responsibilities – In collaboration with Brand Marketing Team:

  • Lead development of content calendar that aligns with brand priorities and marketing objectives.
  • Proven ability to create content that performs across multiple platforms with initial focus on Instagram.
  • Create and edit 20-25 pieces of video and still content per month that can be used on Instagram, Pinterest and TikTok,
  • Create and execute 15-20 Instagram story concepts per month
  • Write all copy captions for owned social media channels
  • Concept ideas for influencer campaigns and content creation
  • Understand best design practices across all social channels, especially Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube
  • Ideate, create, present, and deliver content in support of paid and organic social including both stills, animated and video.
  • Interact as the brand with aligned on relevant accounts
  • Research social content trends to maintain a fresh point-of-view
  • Perform audits on social performance on a rolling basis and be able to present findings.
  • Act as community manager for all social accounts ensuring timely responses to all inquiries.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • College degree: BA or BFA with a focus on Graphic Design, Communications Design, or UX/UI preferred
  • Digitally native social first content creator passionate about all things social
  • 3+ years creating for brands in the social space
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite on Mac Platform (especially Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, (Creative Cloud express (formerly spark) a plus.
  • Understanding of what is happening in culture and the haircare and beauty space
  • High level of initiative and positive approach.
  • Ability to create and revise projects quickly
  • Able to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written business communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact and speak persuasively with all levels of management.
