Accountant 2

As an Accountant 2 at Nordstrom, you will be responsible for moderately complex accounting activities, including prepaid expenses, inter-company transactions, various accruals, and cash management. You will work under the general supervision of the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, contributing to the decision-making process and striving to exceed goals and expectations.

• Accurately record transactions into the general ledger.
• Reconcile accounts, summarize activity, and resolve reconciling differences.
• Analyze and investigate unusual trends and activities in Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
• Perform accounting and control procedures related to moderately complex balance sheet accounts.
• Support internal and external audit efforts to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
• Assist the team with ad-hoc projects as directed.

• BS/BA in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Understanding of SOX and internal controls.
• Experience with Essbase Excel Add-in, prepaid and inter-company accounting, Oracle General Ledger, and reconciliation tools is a plus.
