Summary
The Accountant owns critical accounting functions and leads close activities to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and insightful analysis for a luxury retail group. This role partners cross-functionally with operations and corporate teams, supports budgeting and forecasting, and drives process efficiencies and automation.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare monthly financial statements and executive reporting packages
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Drive process efficiencies and automation in accounting and reporting
- Partner with finance leadership on ERP, POS, and system enhancements
- Support budgeting and forecasting and act as finance partner to cross functional teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in accounting or finance
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and advanced formulas
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of POS and inventory management systems
- Experience preparing financial statements according to US GAAP
- Experience with internal and external audits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Authorized to work in the United States
